VISION

I began attending art school as young as five years old at the Art and Design Studio of Rockland, where I started with preliminary pieces of acrylics. There, I explored different media, ultimately discovering my passion for oil paints. I loved the layering techniques that involved oil paint, like I was emulating the process of the Classical masters. It made me feel like a true artist. Mastering the most traditional form of art made every media after feel like natural skill. This interest drove my curiosity in becoming trained classically, but experimenting with modern techniques and inspirations to create classical contemporary pieces. Art school only began my zeal for the arts, opening the door to different medias and opportunities, training myself in various fields of art and design.

When the opportunity presented itself to me, I delved into art history, photography and computer graphics, seeking a better understanding in the past, present and future of art. Learning art history led to my new scope of the world, because I began noticing artistic elements in my everyday life, realizing art exists in every aspect of the world around us. A world I hope to help design. My love for the Classical works of the Renaissance painters and the Baroque artists inspire me to integrate key elements of the Classics into a contemporary statement. I want to incorporate the techniques of chiaroscuro to visualize the dramatization of modern society. I want to create a style of contemporary Classicism that exists in modern art and design.
