My concentration investigates how various light sources interact with spaces, objects and people. I explore how the contrast between light and dark creates dramatic and ominous moods referencing the style of the Baroque period. The use of tenebrism unifies my pieces together by creating a theatrical tone of uncertainty. Lights create illumination or symbolically interact with subjects. I drew inspiration from artists like Vermeer and Edward Hopper using light to create atmospheric drama.
